Excellent tobacco jar, chrome plated with the design then etched through this plating to the brass beneath. The badge of the Coldstream Guards on the front, and their list of battle honours, ending at ‘European War’, on the back. On the top is engraved ‘From 2nd Lt J Brenchley, BEF, France to P H Taylor, South Africa’.

The maker won the Military Cross but was killed in 1915.
