Trench art made from bayonets is a little more unusual, partly because they have somewhat limited possibilities and partly because the hardened steel of the blade is difficult to work with. The principle use is to combine three to make a stand for another object, with the blades curled rather like wrought iron. I have one example using three socket bayonets linked to a projectile to form a candelabra, however this is certainly post-war and ‘commercially’ made. |

Bayonets with designs etched into the blade also exist, but are scarce. |
