An extension to the tobacco jars discussed earlier is to use the brass from shell cases to construct boxes or caskets of the makers own design. Often these are designed as jewellery boxes for sweethearts at home, or for mother, as in the example shown here. |

Another derivative is to hollow out a section of propeller as a trinket box, with the addition of cap badges or carved designs. |
