MODELS

The shape of a shell case lends itself to the construction of models of artillery pieces, using the shell as the barrel. Making a carriage and wheels from wood would produce an impressive object, with the added irony of the main material.
The only example I have in my collection is the crude WW2 example below, but Nicholas Saunders’s first book (see Links & Reviews page) has a photo of a stunning example from the Versavel collection.
